Technology Innovation Institute (TII) is now a Board member of the prestigious Wireless World Research Forum (WWRF), the platform for the global wireless research community to come together to explore and develop the research challenges that confront us as we look beyond current 5G deployments. Prof. Mérouane Debbah, Chief Researcher, AI & Telecoms Systems and Acting Chief Researcher, Digital Security Research center (DSRC), is now an official member of the Steering Committee of WWRF.

WWRF is currently engaged in the ongoing effort to roll out 5G technologies, and its members keenly follow and influence the debate on how to meet the requirements of the various vertical industries that will leverage 5G. The wider mission of WWRF is to look beyond current technology and businesses to identify the key research trends that will impact our world in the next 5-10 years.

Prof. Mérouane Debbah said: “We are delighted to gain membership on this important platform that will considerably elevate our standing as a decision marker in the crucial 5G space. The membership will also enable TII to widen its sphere of influence in the higher telecommunications sector and help us ensure greater visibility and traction for our breakthrough research efforts.”

Nigel Jefferies, Chairman of the Wireless World Research Forum, said: “WWRF is impressed with the calibre of innovation TII and its Digital Security Research center (DSRC) are engaged in. We are proud to count TII as a member of our dedicated Forum. WWRF sees huge potential for TII to become a worldwide leader in the Wireless Telecommunication field and define next generation standards such as 6G.”

Congratulations to our teams for this achievement that will enable our organisation to play an informed role in decision making on these key emerging technology domains that have a wide-reaching global impact.
